The brief was to showcase and promote the monthly lineup for Ministry of Sound's Saturday Sessions. Saturday Sessions is the pioneering brand that has cemented Saturday nights at Ministry of Sound for the past decade. The direction was to capture the phosphorescence and smoky imagery of clubbing night life and translate that into lettering. I was engaged by Linus to create a lettering for the title of his film and to design his promotional poster. I worked with the wonderful photograph that was captured by Tom Seah, a good friend of mine, while he was on the set of Linus' shoot. The quote comes from John 15:13, 'Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends'. The lettering is inspired by the cracked and faded wording found on a memorial at one of the sites of the shoot, which Linus showed me from a photograph he took.
